**Job Overview:**
Bertera Subaru of West Springfield is seeking a motivated and skilled Assistant Service Manager to join our dynamic service team. The ideal candidate will work directly with customers and service personnel to ensure efficient operations and exceptional service delivery. This position requires strong leadership skills, excellent customer service capabilities, and a solid understanding of automotive repair processes.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Assist the Service Manager in managing the day-to-day operations of the service department.
- Ensure exceptional customer service is delivered at all times by addressing customer inquiries, concerns, and service needs promptly.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding vehicle services, repairs, and maintenance needs.
- Oversee service technicians to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.
- Schedule and coordinate service appointments, manage workflow, and expedite service requests to maximize efficiency.
- Prepare and maintain service department reports, including productivity and profitability metrics.
- Provide training and guidance to service staff on customer service best practices and technical knowledge.
- Assist in managing service department inventory, including parts and tools.
- Collaborate with the Service Manager to develop and implement strategies to improve service operations and customer satisfaction.
- Help promote service specials and upsell additional services and products to customers.
- Stay updated on automotive technology trends and service procedures.
**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent; automotive technical training or degree preferred.
- Previous experience in automotive service management or as a service advisor is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair processes and service department operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Proficient in using service management software and standard office applications.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
